He then led them out of the city over to Bethany. Raising his hands he blessed them, and while blessing them, took his leave, being carried up to heaven.

And they were on their knees, worshiping him. They returned to Jerusalem bursting with joy. They spent all their time in the Temple praising God.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your Name.

Give us today our daily bread.

Save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours, now and forever.
Amen.

Closing Prayer

God of glory,
by the raising of your Son
you have broken the chains of death and hell:
fill your Church with faith and hope;
for a new day has dawned
and the way to life stands open
in our Savior Jesus Christ
Amen.
